ethically, and using only non-toxic ingredients. We're fully committed to leaving this planet a better place for future generations because there's no Planet B. Making decisions now to minimize our impact to the planet is crucial.

Each component of our packaging is carefully chosen for sustainability; however, we've found that beauty products, regardless of material, cannot be recycled through curb side bins in New Zealand due to their size.
Considering this, and recognizing that sustainability is our driving force, we have the following initiatives in place:

WE MAKE IT SIMPLE FOR YOU TO PLANT TREES AROUND THE WORLD! We care deeply about the planet and creating a business that gives back to nature. That’s why we’re thrilled to share that we’re partnering with One Tree planted  (@onetreeplanted) to donate 50 cents for plant a tree for each sold Zelania’s product.
One Tree Planted is a 501C3 non-profit environmental charity with a focus on global reforestation. One Tree Planted reforestation projects rebuild forests after natural disasters and deforestation. This doesn’t just benefit nature and the climate, it directly impacts the people living in the affected
areas.

Although there are several reasons why we chose sugarcane tubes, the finest one is that the raw material used to make them, green polyethylene, is derived from 100% renewable resource—sugarcane, instead of fossil-based materials and it absorbs carbon from the atmosphere. Similar to trees, sugarcane removes carbon from the atmosphere as it grows. The factory that manufactures our sugarcane tubes even produces bio-electricity from sugarcane husks, further enhancing the sustainability of the manufacturing process.
Because sugarcane absorbs CO2 from the air as it grows, the carbon footprint is 50% lower than that
of conventional tubes. The sugarcane tube can be completely recycled after use.
Additionally, we are continuously exploring ways to further enhance the sustainability of our
packaging, ensuring that every aspect of our product lifecycle is as eco-friendly as possible.

Zelania Skincare outer packaging is thoughtfully designed to serve a dual purpose - not merely as
simple cartons, but as storage boxes crafted from recycled materials. We believe in giving our packaging a second life, whether it's for storing jewellery or other accessories, thereby reducing environmental impact.

In our pursuit of an increasingly sustainable model, we're working on establishing the ‘Take Back Initiative’ programme. This aims to collect intact packaging, sanitize it, and reintroduce it into circulation. Although still in its early stages, we anticipate implementing a sustainable, long-term solution in the near future. We've diligently made conscious, mindful decisions to prioritize both people and the planet, while maintaining the premium quality of our products.

We're diligently developing refill solutions for Zelania products. Refilling in our lab ensures the potency of our products. That's why we meticulously fill our products into containers under a controlled environment.

Derived as a by-product of the distillation process used to extract lavender essential oil from locally grown lavender plants, this 100% pure and natural hydrosol embodies our commitment to superior
natural ingredients and sustainability. Notably, we use lavender hydrosol as a base instead of water in our formulations, elevating the product's efficacy while minimizing environmental impact. Through our innovative approach, we aim to reduce waste and optimize resource utilization. Through employing this method, we gather our ingredients while upholding our environmental and social obligations. This conscientious approach enables us to provide potent natural bio-actives while
honouring the integrity of the land and water from which these ingredients originate.

Reducing carbon and taking climate change action has never been more important. We all have to make changes to lower our carbon emissions. The production of any consumer product creates carbon. Greenhouse gas emissions released through human activity are responsible for climate change, causing an unprecedented rise in temperature across our planet that affects nature, wildlife,
and every single one of us. We are in the process of certification for our carbon emission.

All our manufacturers hold ‘Good Manufacture Practice’ certification, ensuring excellence in production.
